Coni Carpinelli – S.A.F.E. Coordinator

 

S.A.F.E. stands for student assistance and family empowerment. S.A.F.E. has an important mission.  It is to serve students and their families by providing assistance with academic, emotional, and health needs.  Here is a list of some of the programs that S.A.F.E. offers:

 

Clothes Closet and Food Pantry – Open to all Lancaster students and their families.

Parent Resource Center – Provides videos, books, and materials for parents to borrow.  We also have a list of community resources that are available to families.

Hygiene Clubs – Pert N Pretty and He Man – Offers our students toiletries, lessons in hair and nail care and much more.

Community Service Projects – Supports our Character education Program.  Students will visit senior citizen centers, churches, Arnold Palmer Childrens’ Hospital, perform recycling projects, beautify our campus and learn the rewards of good citizenship that giving back to the community can foster.

Red Ribbon Week – Focus on skills to be drug free.  All students will visit the Drug –Free mobile unit and view videos.  Fourth and fifth grade students will attend presentations by M.A.D.D. and D.E.A. agents. 

Carnival – Many free posters, booklets for students and parents, food items, etc. will be given free of charge.

S.A.V. CLUB – STUDENTS AGAINST VIOLENCE – will continue from last year.

Anger Management Groups, Peer Mediation, Olweus Bully Prevention Program, Grandparents Club, and Mentoring Program will also continue from last year.

 

S.A.F.E. would like to offer a heartfelt “THANK YOU” to all of our Partners in education for support in all of our activities.  This Fall a special thank you goes to St. Matthews Church, Neighborhood Center For Families, McCoy Federal Credit Union, Community Service Center of South Orange, Renaissance Orlando Resort, Home Depot, McDonalds, Dennys,  Publix,Winn Dixie, Costco, and the Orlando Sentinel for providing much needed school supplies, clothing, and support for all our Lancaster families.

Lancaster is proud to announce that our S.A.F.E. Program is the only elementary school in Orange County that has been nominated as a Red Ribbon Certificate School for the year 2006-2007!  More Information to follow.
